TASTINGS ARE CONDUCTED DOUBLE-BLIND AND TWICE DAILY - once in the morning and again in the afternoon. The only information given our panel is the varietal. No more than 12 wines are tasted per session. Wines are tasted three times: immediately after being opened, 30 to 45 minutes later and again the following morning. No preservation system is used. Since many wines change overnight - sometimes not favorably - our panel feels this method of evaluation best relates a wine's true quality.

Ratings listed indicate the average score of the three tastings and reflect how the wine tastes now, not how we project it will taste at its peak. Our panels believes it's impossible to project how a wine may taste in the future, since each is unique, and aging differs drastically with every vintage and/or storage environment.

ONLY WINES RECOMMENDABLE ARE LISTED

Prices quoted are winery-suggested retail prices and may vary.

Unless initialed or indicated, wines are tasted by a panel at our offices in Melbourne, Victoria, under the above guidelines.

SCORES AND NOTES: Our philosophy is that wine is about passion. It's about friends, family, food, the environment you're in and the music you're listening to. And we think it's about time people started treating wine that way, instead of placing it on a pedestal and worshipping it with a numerical value.

So published notes from our tastings are simple, straightforward and fun. No numbers, points, pie charts, bar graphs or revolutionary systems that require a calculator. (Please, give us a break!) While grocery store lists, flowery descriptors and pedantic attitudes may fuel fodder for the wine snob, they do not make the wine taste any better.

Please remember that reviews are only suggestions of quality, not definite buying strategies. Since individual palates differ, we suggest tasting the wine (if possible) before buying it.

Hey, relax, sit back, and have a good time. We did.
