X. Ingoldby 2000 Chardonnay McLaren Vale - South Australia $14 Lifted peachy fruit matched with a solid four-b-two splintery oak. Chardonnay with the subtlety of a Rodney Rude one-liner but just as entertaining.
X. Saltram 1999 Chardonnay Barossa Valley - South Australia $12 Sweet, peachy and a little on the weighty side - just like our sexy J-Lo.
$15 - $22
X. Hamilton 1999 Chardonnay Leconfield Coonawarra - South Australia $18 Pale straw yellow, the nose has white peach and tinned pear notes. The palate is ripe, citrussy and dominated by some pretty hard acid. Like the girl at school who never says very much - always more than meets the eye.
X. Hollick 1998 Chardonnay Reserve - South Australia $20 Citrus, melon, peaches and cream. Lovely mouthfeel and supporting oak. Track one off Radiohead's Kid A, Everything In the Right Place.
X. Logan Wines 1999 Chardonnay New South Wales $18 Lemony citrus nose and fairly fresh. Not typically Australian because it's missing the punchy fruit - like Euro porn on SBS - simple, clean, but only the Euros ever get it.
X. Tempus 1998 Chardonnay Two Broke Vineyard - New South Wales $18 Very oakey, buttery, sweet apricot fruit and a lotta body; but if Pierce Brosnan got fat and came on to you at a party, would you say no?
