Magazines a crash course for the oenology-impaired

Wine X, from the cutting edge of the West Coast, is our newest wine magazine specifically aimed at that much maligned and overlooked (or so they say) group of citizens -- Generation X.

This group may be rewriting the way we look at wine as a less intimidating, more fun beverage. The tasting notes from their magazine are alone worth the $3.95 an issue.

On Cline Cellars Zinfandel: “It’s like James Brolin in those Aamco transmission commercials. Unless you’re an expert you can’t quite tell what is wrong, but we’re pretty sure it’s something minor.”

Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cepages is, according to Wine X, “the Mick Jagger of cabernets -- bold, spicy, struttin’ and full of lip.”
