Straight-Up Summer
by Mo Clancy
Magazine Issue: U.S. Vol. 2.6
Trends check in and out every season. But there are some important fashion cues that are here to stay -- for a while, at least.

by Mo Clancy

This summer you must have a black sleeveless top. We suggest a tube top or bandeau. In the fall it's easy to layer these pieces under shirts and jackets.

Pair pointy-toed stilettos (or, for the more timid, a lower Sabrina heel) with a pencil-straight skirt just past your knees. Be sure to watch for skirts with a slit or two in a metallic fabric for extra impact.

Straight-up may be hot for summer fashion, but wine-wise it's gonna be on the rocks. Watch for brands flexible (and humble) enough to be quaffed over ice, even with a twist of lime. Chilled reds are on the rise, taking the heat outta summer and redirecting it into passion and romance. Don't be afraid to break the rules.
