10 Questions

How often do you have a glass of wine?
Whenever I eat out, I have at least one glass of wine, so that's about five days a week.

If you could only drink one wine (or type of wine) for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Pinot noir. It's a very versatile wine that goes with any type of food. And the California pinots are really beginning to stand up to the best French Burgundies.

Why do you think people feel intimidated about wine?
There's so much selection, and the price range is so broad. It makes people insecure about their knowledge of wine and question if they're paying too much or too little for a bottle.

How long does an open bottle last in your house?
A half-hour if a friend's over, five minutes if I'm alone.

What's the best/worst bottle of wine you've received as a gift?
The best bottle of Champagne I almost received was from my sister, who sent me a bottle of Cristal for my 25th birthday at Morton's. Her credit card was denied, so I had to pay for it myself. The Champagne cost more than the meal.

Ever drink wine right from the bottle? Through a straw? Outta someone's navel?
A few times from the bottle. Never with a straw. And maybe I'll use the navel idea in my next film.

What would be your dream meal?
Filet mignon, a glass of Miramar Torres pinot noir and Heidi Klum.

Would you be turned off by a screw cap on an expensive bottle of wine?
Definitely. I gave up screw caps when I sold "Whipped."

Ever use wine to lure someone into bed? (Details, details!)
Yes. Dunnwood. "It works every time." This is addressed more in "Whipped."

Favorite winery/wine producer? Why?
Francis Ford Coppola. Because he makes great films and great wine.
