The tag says it’ll chill a wine in as little as 20 minutes. Okay, technically true. It did chill a bottle of chard down a few degrees in that time period. But, depending on how chilled you like your wines, it really takes about 40 to 60 minutes. That said, ChillinJoy does a great job of keeping a bottle of chilled wine cold for up to four hours. And, because the neck of the bottle sticks out of the bag, you don’t have to remove the bottle to pour yourself another glass.
Made of neoprene, the ChillinJoy bag has three inside pockets that hold frozen icepacks. There are additional pockets outside for extra items, like wine openers, condoms, whatever.
We tested all bottle sizes, from the lean, sleek “designer” bottles to the “ego” monstrosities that wineries use so they can jack-up the price an extra $20. Hey, the heavier the bottle the better the wine, right? Uh-huh. Anyway, ChiilinJoy holds every 750ml bottle we came up with, as well as the all-important Colt 45 bottle. Hey, we’re just sayin’.
Overall, ChillinJoy is a great one-bottle carrier/chiller for those who BYO. Or, you can do as I do and use it to keep the white you’re drinking cold while veggin’ on the sofa. That way you don’t have to get your sorry ass over to the refrig every twn minutes to refill your glass. Ah, modern conveniences.
